Batteries are  spill-proof and require absolutely no maintenance during their design life, other than normal re-charging.

They are high-specification, industrial monobloc batteries, featuring state-of-the-art, calcium-lead alloy terminal grids, 99.99% pure lead plates and utilise the latest imported German separator and gel electrolyte technology.

WHO'S USING THEM?
HAZE N70 Sealed Lead Acid Gel Batteries are extensively used in 4WDs, motorhomes, caravans, campervans and yachts, cruisers and fishing applications. Also electric mobility vehicles and other equipment needing flexible, high power output with safe handling and charging.  Currently one of the most popular uses is specifically as auxillary batteries, both in 4WDs and marine applications.

HOW POWERFUL ARE THEY?
As genuine Gel electrolyte cycling/cranking batteries HAZE N70 Sealed Lead Acid Gel Batteries can store and produce not only 100Ah (C20) for Deep-Cycling applications but also 615 CCA SAE for starting and cranking. Deep-Cycling life is 600 x 50% cycles as per IEC ratings. Their Reserve Capacity (RC) is 157 minutes and Marine Cranking Amps are rated at MCA 810.

WILL THEY FIT?
The expression N70 (or N50 etc) in battery terms, actually refers to the size and configuration of the battery casing, not the electrical characteristics of the battery. HAZE N70 VRLA Gel Batteries use a high-impact-resistant, monobloc N70 type battery case which is L 305 x W 168 x OH (Overall Height) 238 and weighs 28.4Kg. They will fit in all 4WDs, yachts, cruisers or other applications which have N70 sized main or auxillary battery spaces, carriers or brackets. They also have a compact, single-handed carry strap on top to make handling much easier. 


DO THEY HAVE TO BE SECURED IN A FLAT POSITION?
Because 
HAZE N70 Sealed Lead Acid Gel Batteries have a non-liquid electrolyte in the form of an immobile gel, they can be securely positioned in any orientation besides horizontal. They can be used on their side or even secured upside-down, if anyone could think of a good reason for doing it.

ARE THEY OK AND SAFE FOR PEOPLE WITH BREATHING PROBLEMS OR ALLEGIES?
HAZE N70 Sealed Lead Acid Gel Batteries are FAA and IATA approved as non-hazardous.  Being sealed batteries, they do not give off toxic, corrosive or explosive gases while charging (with a correct charger). This is good news because it means HAZE N70 VRLA Gel Batteries can be safely charged in normally-ventilated areas without risk of explosions or endangering asthmatics or sufferers of emphysema and other lung conditions….or for that matter, children or pets including canaries.

WHAT TYPE OF TERMINAL CONNECTORS DO THEY HAVE?

HAZE N70 Sealed Lead Acid Gel Batteries also feature unique dual battery terminals with both ordinary A-posts and threaded connectors on their + and - terminals. This is very handy because it means not only automotive, but any other applications can be easily connected at the same time without using additional fiddly and space-wasting adaptors.

WHICH WAY ARE THE TERMINAL CONNECTORS CONFIGURED?
Two 
HAZE N70 Sealed Lead Acid Gel Battery models are now available. They have the positive and negative terminals either on the left side or the right side of the battery. This is to allow them to match an existing battery configuration in a vehicle or battery box without having to adapt or extend the battery cables. 

WHAT ARE THE CORRECT CHARGING VOLTAGES FOR  WARRANTY AND LONG LIFE?
Recommended charging voltages are completely standard for HAZE N70 VRLA Gel Batteries. In other words, to fulfil the warranty conditions, they only need to be charged using standard, off-the-shelf, Sealed Lead-Acid battery chargers including BeeHive Series EPS, Zivan or YK type  Switch-Mode Battery Chargers.

These provide a clean, virtually ripple-free DC output and automatically charge at 2.3 Volts per cell for float or trickle charging and 2.4 - 2.45 Volts per cell for boost charging. (e.g. For 12V battery charging: 13.8V for Float and 14.4 - 14.7 V for Boost.)

IS SIZE IMPORTANT?
In typical everyday deep-cycling applications, the minimum recommended charger would be around about 20% of the battery or battery bank's capacity. For example, a 100Ah battery is ideally charged with a 20Amp charger although a smaller 14Amp charger can be used if time is not a problem. (Incidentally, from a professional engineering point of view, 10% chargers are only used for charge maintence of batteries employed in float, standby or cranking applications.)

A larger charger WILL ALWAYS be necessary for charging from a generator, or for charging in a shorter time, or for charging while the batteries are being drained by other equipment like fridges, lights, etc.

It IS important to make sure you have the right type and size of charger for your particular battery and application, because..."The Laws of Physics will always trump the Laws of Wishful Thinking".

The following 
rule-of-thumb formulas are used by engineers and technicans to calculate the approximate size of a battery charger needed to fully recharge batteries (to 100%) within a minimum available time period:

  8 hours charging time available equals the Amphours to be replaced divided by 4
10 hours charging time available equals the Amphours to be replaced divided by 5
12 hours charging time available equals the Amphours to be replaced divided by 5.5

Say for example you had a 100 Amphour (Ah) battery from which you regularly took 80Ah, and you needed to replace those 80Ah in 8 hours, then 80 divided by 4 equals approximately a 20 Amp charger for charging to 100% full in 8 hours.

If you had 10 hours available, this would work out at 80 Amphours divided by 5, which equals about a 16 Amp charger.

12 hours available to replace 80Ah would need about a 14 Amp charger.

Remembering again that, "The Laws of Physics will always trump the Laws of Wishful Thinking", there are extremely good technical reasons why a 4 Amp battery charger from K-Mart will never charge a very big battery in a very few hours - if ever. 

Car, 4WD, truck and marine alternator/regulators are usually set to about 14.4Volts. Check that they have a large enough current output (Amps), to charge an extra battery plus supply whatever other power  is needed  at the same time (heaters, air-cond, driving lights, windscreen wipers, EFI, music, etc). Some people fit larger alternators if necessary, even if it's only temporarily while they are traveling.

An Important Money-Saving Note about Charging:
All Lead Acid technology batteries need to be kept fully charged as much as possible. They must not be deliberately flattened or left uncharged or under-charged. They must be charged as soon as possible after use and kept charged with a correct type and size charger. However, if you are feeling wealhy, you can do as you please...we have plenty of replacement batteries!
